Oh Christmas tree!  Oh Christmas tree!Every night when I return home from work, I walk straight to our tree and plug it in.  The twinkling 9ft tall tower of memories, new and old, keep me company while I work from the couch or hang with my besties, The Real Housewives (obv).  Traditions people!And even though we found our tree the weekend following Thanksgiving, it doesn’t stop me from checking out tree lots as I pass by them.  Walking through the man-made forest – different shapes, sizes, colors, types, smells… ah, the smells.  Nothing says holiday season to me more than red Starbucks cups capturing the scent of a tree in my hand after a tree handshake* and breathing it in for the rest of my walk.  The NYT article, Fir crazy: Selling Christmas trees is a 24-hour job in New York nailed it.* Technical term meaning to run one’s hand down the length of a tree branch to check for hydration and needle strength.  For the record, I prefer the term “handshake” to “second base” even though it’s totally “second base”.
